Olympics – London Eye – A Massive Mood Ring

Recent articles by Jay Busbee and Todd Wassermann are very interesting.  They report how the London Eye will be like an enormous Mood Ring.  EDF Energy has consulted with an expert in Twitter sentiment (Mike Thelwall) and linguistic analysts (Sosolimted) who will be interpreting tweets in relation to how England is doing in the Olympics.  The tweets will be analyzed according to the amount of positive or negative emotions.

The overall feeling will be shown by the London Eye’s lights which will look like a gigantic Mood Ring.  The Eye will light up with the mood of the nation for 30 minutes.  How cool is that?

Green – Neutral

Yellow – Positive

Purple – Negative.
